It's been too long

I know it's only been about 2 days but I feel like I haven't posted forever.  It has been a crazy week getting ready for the Handmade Cavalcade, not only making stuff but promoting. I spent all day yesterday going throughout the Hudson Valley with Kristy from Beacon Bookmarks hitting every coffee shop and indie bookstore we could find who would let us post fliers and leave postcards.

Sorry but no Project Runway Recap or Friday Etsy Find this week. I will say this, I'm happy that Keith is gone also. I'm done with him too and Stella lives to see another challenge, woohoo! Next week looks like it's gonna be intense.

New stuff added to the shops today..

You can see more details at Etsy and DaWanda.

Have a great weekend!!!

It's a Craft Off!

Picture 4 is having their 4th Annual Craft-Off Contest.  It's crafting on a budget. We’re looking for jewelry, clothing, home décor, furniture, bags, accessories, bath and body works, pet goodies, and whatever else you can think of.

Click the link for the rules and how to enter.  All of the winners will be featured in the 2008-2009 Winter Issue of Venus Magazine but the grand prize is....

Picture 5

It's a Singer 8763 Curvy sewing machine.  I really wish I knew how to sew but the last thing I need is more unfinished project laying about.   It looks like a fun contest so go ahead and have fun!

Friday Etsy Finds - Cinderella

This had to have been my FAVORITE story as a child.  I remember my mom taking me to see the Disney movie in the theater. One year I was Cinderella for Halloween and it was my favorite costume ever.

We begin with probably the most expensive FEF thus far

A Cinderella gown from Spooky Kitten Couture.

Here is a fun Fairy Tale Horse & Carriage Ride Headband from Charm School Design

Here is beautiful CINDERELLA STORY altered art charm necklace from Poet Summer.

You can't tell this story without a pumpkin, necklace from Snarky Mark.

Of course, let's not forget...

Large vinyl decal from Hums & Tiddlely Poms

Project Runway Recap

Ok we got a lot of ground to cover here so lets get right to it.  I was looking forward to this episode because I love Drag Queens. Always have, always will, how can you not? I was happy to see Chris March make an appearance and hear that laugh of his one more time.

This was the challenge where everyone was encouraged to go over the top in their design. Some of them did and some of them didn't, take a guess who didn't? I'll get to that in a minute.  But first the winner!

Tim Gunn said it best on his blog, "Isn't it ironic that our only hetero male would win this challenge? Congratulations, Joe!" That's right! Joe, who was probably the biggest fish out of water in this challenge, totally went for it and knocked it out of the park! Personally, I thought Varla Jean Merman was absolutely adorable.  And you know I LOVE the anchors!  Where do you get those earrings???

Now for the loser and not so fabulous design:

Once again, Daniel decided to play it safe and go by his own rules and made a pretty average gown but it was brilliant and couture in his mind. I am SO glad he got sent home because I was done with him and his ego. Sad thing is, I don't think he's going to take anything away from this experience except for some 15 minutes of fame. Unless he's open to criticism and coming out of his safety zone, he's not going to get very far.

Something I wanted to bring up is an article in this week's New York Magazine, America's Next Top Fashion Editor. Its about Nina Garcia and Anne Slowey. Have you noticed this season that Nina is now the "Editor-At-Large" for Elle Magazine on PR? It's because she's not really at Elle anymore. Apparently it's just crazy over there and they got rid of her. She's now the Fashion Director of Marie Claire. Good for her.

And about Anne Slowey? The CW Network is planning to release their own reality show this Fall starring Ann (now Fashion Editor for Elle) entitled Stylista. It is another competition show where aspiring fashion editors will go at it to be a Junior Editor under Slowey but the way the article puts it, it's gonna be Hell's Kitchen meets The Devil Wears Prada. There's enough crazy bitches on television if you ask me.

What I'm Wishing

I came across a Polyvore Group created by Miss Cedar at Indulgences named "What I'm Wishing" and it sounded like fun so why not play along? I don't spend enough time on Polyvore.

Here is a Wednesday submission, take a guess what I'm wishing here...

Ah yes, a nice, casual, day time stroll through the bay area with cute doggies in tow.
