I ♥ Fluff Friday: Craft Fair Displays

By the time this post is published, I should be on the road heading up to Bard College for the 9th Annual Holiday Craft Fair.  I'll be there with a few members of the Hudson Valley Etsy Team so either way, it's gonna be a good day. :)

Which brings me to today's theme, who doesn't love craft fair displays? I don't have any current pictures of mine (it's very simple looking).  One of my goals for next year is to get back to doing more shows and kicking up my display 20 notches.  As you can see, having height is key, it's great for one's eye-level and it's easy to spot from a distance.  Enjoy your weekend!

Check Out Who I'm Sponsoring

Every month we hear from bloggers (myself included) putting out their call for sponsors.  I'm very thankful and appreciative of those who have chosen to sponsor my blog thus far since I started earlier this year.  It's been a while since I shared just where the sponsorship money is going towards, so check out who I am currently and will be sponsorsing starting December 1st.

If you're not already familiar with these these blogs, I highly recommend them.

Speaking of December ads, there's still time grab a spot for December on Pulp Sushi.  Purchase an ad for December and I'll throw in January. Check out the sponsor page for details.

What I've Been Making....

The sales are OVER for the year but the good news is you can still take advantage of  **Free US Shipping** until 12/31/2012.  My cutoff for shipping in time for Christmas is December 14th.

Besides jewelry, I wanted to share some other stuff I've been working on recently.

Crochet Cuffs anyone?  I started making these one night after a mild "Non-Etsy-Selling-Freakout" moment. They're really fun to wear.  They don't make noise, they don't hurt the little bumpy bone that sticks out of your wrist and they don't get in the way when typing on your keyboard. I made a few of these to sell at my upcoming shows (hopefully) and then I'll add them to Etsy. There will be some serious shop updates once my two craft fairs are over.

I made apple bread pudding - first time!  #baking #food #yum

My first attempt at making Bread Pudding. I loved my grandmother's bread pudding which she use to make around Christmas time. Unfortunately my mom never learned how to make it so I've gone a few years without it. Thanks to Pinterest, I found a pretty easy enough recipe, tweaked it a little, and it taste very close to how my Abuela use to make it.  I need to work on it a little more before I share the recipe here.

This damn blanket! My first attempt at making anything large and crochet on top of that.  It's crazy uneven so no, I will not share an actual picture of it.  It does its job by keeping me very warm so there.

So my hands have been pretty busy lately and I hope I'm not causing long-term damage to my wrists with all the crocheting I've been doing. Has that even happened or am I being neurotic?

♥ December Sponsor Ads Available ♥

December is a special month for a few reasons:  there's your big holiday of celebration whatever that may be - for me it's Christmas. Aaaaaand, it's my birthday month!  I'm still rockin' my thirties so I'm gonna celebrate!

As a special treat, if you purchase an ad in December I'm also going to throw in January! I'm gonna take it easy in January. I'll still update but maybe not as often as I normally would.  I don't plan on asking for January sponsors in December.  So if you purchase an ad (any size) in December, I'll match you an extra 30 days!

New ads will go up December 1st and when space is available afterward for 60 days.  You save when you purchase for 3 months (will still throw in the extra month - offer good in December only). Read my sponsorship page for details.  General information about my blog can be found in my press kit.

Large ad purchase includes a feature post and an ad in my e-newsletter. Check out past Featured Sponsor posts - this could be you!  All sponsors will get a #FF mention on Twitter every Friday for the month.

Email me at with questions or if you're having issues purchasing your ad.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone who celebrates it has a happy Thanksgiving.  I only need to prepare one dish today - Butternut Squash, so I'm about to get on that and finish watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Can't wait to read about what everyone had for dinner! :)

A Visit To Bryant Park's Holiday Market

Last week I was staying in the city one night and decided to take advantage some "me time". After work I walked over to Bryant Park to check out the outdoor Holiday Market they do every year.  Bryant Park is located behind the main New York Public Library which always reminds me of the beginning of Ghostbusters.

It was nice that it was a weekday and later in the day so it was easier to walk through. I can imagine it being super busy and crowded on a Saturday afternoon.

The kiosks were very cute but I didn't go in any. I didn't want to give the vendors any sense of me being a potential customer - I wasn't there to shop.  There wasn't that much diversity in the vendors, a lot of jewelry and Christmas ornaments with some nice smelling food vendors.  It's very pretty to walk around in.   Their ice skating rink was open for the season too, which I believe is free to the public. The ice rink at Rockefeller Center gets all the attention. :)

I love checking out outdoor markets, especially the ones that pop up during the holiday season. I know people who have sold in them or will be selling in them this year. As fun as it may sound, I don't know if I have it in me to stand outside for over a month trying to sell in the cold and sometimes messy weather.  Good for those who can.  Maybe I'll have a change of heart one day but the timing just isn't practical and the costs of these booths are in the thousands.  Yikes!

Feature Sponsor: Tizzalicious

Meet Maartje, the lovely gal behind Tizzalicious - a shop for kawaii, kitsch, retro & rockabilly jewelry and accessories. Her blog consist of shop updates, things she loves and do (like shopping for cuteness), Etsy & DaWanda finds, etc.  Along with her features "Cute Crafters of the Week" and "DaWanda Wednesday".

I'm passionate about my little business, blogging, music, movies, books and food! I love baking, but I recently stopped eatings grains and sugar, so that kind of put a stop to that. Luckily eating grain and sugar free provided me with a new passion, finding yummie recipes I can actually eat ;) I also love photography. I bought a fantastic camera last year, but unfortunately I haven't been able to use it as much as I'd like for other things than product shots. Hopefully that will change soon, as I vowed to take a little more time for myself.

My "Cute Craftster of the Week" and "DaWanda Wednesday" posts made me discover a whole lot of amazing shops, my own shop got more exposure, and of course I got to know a lot of fantastic people!

Pulp Sushi's Handmade Holiday Sponsors Gift Guide 2012

There has been a movement in the last few years to push for the alternative in shopping for the holidays - supporting and SHOPPING HANDMADE!  When you do, you know exactly where and who your money is going towards and what you are purchasing is made with thought and love and not rapidly put out in some mass-produced warehouse overseas.

I wanted to share the shops by my sponsors - all great talents! I hope to have even more next year as the blog continues to grow.

I ♥ Fluff Friday : Thanksgiving Decorations

I try to plan my "fluff" posts ahead of time but sometimes themes come to me unexpectedly, like this week. Today's theme is Thanksgiving Decor (and white pumpkins apparently) - it just kinda happened that way, white pumpkins are popular I guess, they do look nice.  I don't usually decorate for Thanksgiving but these Pinterest finds definitely make me wanna try for next year. Enjoy and have a nice weekend!
