Sunday is Bazaaar-on-Hudson but also the Fine Art & Craft Fair in Fishkill with Hudson Valley Etsy.  I wish I could go since  it's so close but I gotta be at the Bazaar!

So I leave you with some pretty cool finds from the web, maybe they will inspire you to try something new this weekend, enjoy!

Blog sponsor Art of the Heart recently shared a tutorial on how to style your votive candles.

Review: Floral Knits - Contemporary Flower-Inspired Designs

Here's another addition for your Knitting Library that's a must keep: Floral Knits: 25 Contemporary Flower-Inspired Designs by Martin Storey.  Storey is known for his elegant knitwear designs which is seen throughout the 25 tutorials shared in this book.  Flipping through is like walking through a garden of lush, colorful flowers.

IMG_9417St. Martin's Press really hammers out some beautiful, eye-catching tutorial books I must say!  Designs vary from flower appliques to graphic flower patterns.  Floral Knits also includes projects like cushions and throws to add a unique touch to your room.

Happy Mond...Tuesday! =D

Screen shot 2014-05-27 at 11.30.34 AMHey everyone!  I said I'd be back today so 'hello'!  I'm still getting over the weekend. My work schedule is so weird now. The weekends for everyone else is  the start of my work week so yeah, I worked all weekend. However the schedule isn't bad, I can still go out and have a life which is cool.

There's so much going on right now but I don't know if I'm ready to talk about them here.  If we're Facebook friends, then you already know.  We are planning to move at the end of July so it involves that. It's exciting and super stressful at the same time.  I can't wait for it to be August because that means it will all be over by then.

I took this picture over the weekend of Mike with one of his parents dogs - his name is Guiness and he's a big old softy.  He's a mutt so we could never figure just what the heck he is, we know this much, he has a very strong nose.

So I'm working on a couple of things for the blog and the my upcoming DAY 3 of Bazaar-on-Hudson this Sunday.  Only two more dates left. What am going to do with myself once it's done? It's been a lot of fun so far.

I'm back! Sorta...

I don't have my usual Friday post scheduled for today because I got hit with a wicked cold this week and was sick as a dog.  It totally came from out of no where.  I woke up Monday morning with a really sore throat and it only got worse from there.  Just as the weather finally gets nicer, a cold kicks my butt!

I'm feeling better now just in time for the holiday weekend, wooo!  But yeah, nothing new to report here while I try to get myself back to my normal routine again.  Being sick really throws you off, from your eating to your sleep, ack!  I have a lot of blog reading to catch up on too. :)

I'll be back on Tuesday, have a great weekend!

Check Out Fairy Tale Knits!

Ok you yarn lovers, do I have a treat for your today! It's a known fact that you can never have too much yarn right? You just need to have every shade and texture out there.  Please meet Dawn Craig, a stay-at-home mom of four whom she homeschools and owner of Fairy Tale Knits.

Eight years ago I decided to try my hand at dyeing using Kool-aid and was hooked immediately.  I dyed several more times with Kool-aid then bought some professional dyes.  I enjoyed that too and opened my shop Nov 2011 with a group of friends on Hyena Cart. My favorite dyeing technique is tie dyeing.  I love the effect it creates and the surprise of how the new colorway looks.

I'm rather obsessed with yarn and knitting.  My grandmother taught me the knit stitch when I was 9.  I picked it back up again about 13 years ago.  Since then I've learned all I have from blogs and videos.  The video that really got me hooked was Elizabeth Zimmerman's Knitting Workshop.
Touch the fluffy!
And just for you dear folks, she's offering 15% off your purchase with code PS15off for 15% off and it's good until June 30th so visit Fairy Tale Knits and stock up! Her shop is adorable with a great selection.

There are plenty of ways to keep up with Fairy Tale Knits. You can follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram so go on and make a new friend! :)

New Shop With New Items!

Last week I mentioned moving my shop from Big Cartel to Storenvy.  Turns out this was much easier than I thought and I was able to import my Etsy listings to Storenvy in one sweep so whoop whoooop! Major cool points to Storenvy for that!

The links is the same at but the shop has a new look!

Friday Etsy Treasuries

Happy Friday! Ready for some Etsy treasuries?  Wedding season is in full swing and this first treasury is a great inspiration for a Blush Wedding.

Screen shot 2014-04-30 at 11.21.14 AMI love how this is a "Spring" treasury but it's not traditional in it's color palette.  This is more my speed.

Screen shot 2014-05-07 at 11.29.28 AMAnd I'm all  for being in an "alternative" treasury - people still use that word? That's so 20th Century!  Have a great weekend!

My Weekend At The Tailored Mermaid

While my friend and owner of The Tailored Mermaid in Beacon, NY was taking her business on the road at Art Star Craft Bazaar in Philadelphia this past weekend, I stayed here and watched the shop. I was here this past Saturday and Sunday working and just enjoying being in this pretty space.   Time to share lots of pictures!

I've always loved exposed brick walls! Everything in this shop is handmade. On this wall are clothes designed and made by Sarah-Maria. She loves red and orange. :)

She has a nice assortment of jewelry for sale (Pulp Sushi included).

This dress is her latest and is super adorable. It's covered in FOXES! =D

While you may not be able to come visit in person, I hope you enjoyed this little visit to this shop. If you're ever in Beacon, NY come by and say Hi!

Have You Seen...

This week I have some shares that are not just from my blog reads but also Tumblr and Instagram. I can't wait to enjoy some outdoor dining when the weather gets warmer which is what I think of with this first share...

One of the perks from my job is I get to discover new blogs to follow and connect with, not just on a professional level but as blog friends too and that's what happened with The Home Steady. This was one of the first blogs I worked with and now they can't get rid of me. :)  Check out this cool tutorial from them on how to dye wood placemats - great for the Summer!

MintiwallThis is actually a shop I came across on Instagram - Mintiwall String Art from Turkey.  Gorgeous images and work. You can check them out on Instagram @mintiwall.

Screen Shot 2014-05-05 at 4.41.05 PMHere's another find this time from Tumblr - check out The Messes of Men for some gorgeous images. Actually they had a image pinned on Pinterest of white powdered doughnuts which made me drool. So now I'm a fan, and you should be too! Have a great weekend!
