It's Time To Be Thankful (in April)

Another Monday is here and it's raining and gross outside but I'm happy. I'm trying to practice being thankful more instead of wallowing in what I don't have. Today I'm thankful that I get to stay home in this weather, drink my coffee, and have VH1 Classic's "Totally 80s" playing as background noise.

I'm also thankful for the really nice weekend I just had. I got to spend a lot of time outside and watch some Vassar College baseball.  I love baseball, especially New York baseball. I'm totally a Yankees fan but I also support the Mets.  There is a Subway Series coming up soon so that's always fun to watch.

Last, I'm thankful for Jillian from John Met Betty Handbags!  She had a bunch of old jewelry she was looking to get rid of and was willing to let me take them off her hands.  I got a box in the mail full of awesomeness and couldn't wait to get started.  That's where the following "new" items come from this week.

The images link to their Etsy listings but you can also find them at Storenvy.

Have you been trying to practice more Thankfulness lately? Let's not wait until Thanksgiving to reflect on what we should be thankful for.

New Jewelry At Pulp Sushi This Week

Happy Friday everyone! By the time you read this, I will be in NYC just hanging out for the weekend and a change of scenery.  Hoping this weekend can give me a recharge of sorts as I feel like I've been slacking on the shop updates.  My focus has been on other things still related to Pulp Sushi but not the actual "making".  It comes with the business when you do everything yourself.

The images link to their Storenvy listings but you can find them in the Etsy shop.

Have anything fun planned for this weekend? Maybe go on an Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday? Snack on some chocolate bunnies perhaps?

Pulp Sushi Jewelry Now Available At ArtsWestchester

Today I leave you with a different type of shop update for the week. I'm so happy to finally share with you the news that my jewelry is now available for sale at the SHOP at ArtsWestchester in White Plains, NY! The SHOP at ArtsWestchester is located at 31 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY.  Hours are Tuesday through Saturday 12pm to 5 pm.

I'm in some excellent company too. You can see my little display here along with some pretty cards  and prints from my friend Cindy from Cynla

That's not all of it.  Some pieces were put off to the side for the Fall.  I'm so excited to be included in this store.  I was really worried when two stores I sold in closed earlier this year so when this opportunity came up, I had to jump on it even though I was a little apprehensive.

There is another store possibly in the works here in the Hudson Valley but nothing is finalized yet.  If you know of a store that you think Pulp Sushi Jewelry would be a nice fit in, please let me know - it doesn't have to be New York either. :)

New Jewelry This Week At Pulp Sushi (and some news!!)

Happy Friday! I'm glad to share what's new in the shops this week and I have an announcement towards the end of post that I'm just a bit giddy about.

I scored some pretty cool brass gears recently and couldn't wait to start incorporating them in to some jewelry!  The gears are very light weight and smooth and not scratchy on the skin, which was a concern I had but it's all good!   This week I want to show off a new necklace and bracelet added to Etsy and Storenvy.   As always, readers can use the Etsy coupon BLOG20 for 20% off.

Would you believe I'm running low on jump rings already?  I'm so happy with how the bracelets have been turing out so far that I want to make more.  You can check out what I have so far here

What's this news?

After much thinking and asking around, I decided that I'm going to write an e-book!  I have three ideas floating around in my head but one in particular is really pulling at me so I've been preparing my outline and taking notes.

I always wanted to write an e-book but was concerned that there are already so many out there, every topic has been covered, but screw that! There are a billion love songs written, it doesn't stop a song writer from writing another one right?

Right now my goal is to have it out in July.  I'm writing this on my blog to put myself on notice and hold myself accountable.  So stay tuned and have a great weekend!

Handmade Chainmaille Bracelets at Pulp Sushi Jewelry

The chainmaille saga continues! I've been going through my latest stash of jump rings and mixing it up a little with some beads. You can click the images to view the Storenvy listings but they are also available in my Etsy shop

The color combinations I've been putting together lately have actually be inspired by comic book characters.  This particular bracelet is Spiderman or Superman-ish. The Green and Purple bracelet I shared last week was totally the Green Goblin.  I also made a bracelet based on Iron Man which was sent to the gallery I wrote about previously.  Which reminds me, I should be sharing more details about that soon. It's opening TOMORROW!

Just a reminder that there is still time to sign up for my email list to enter to win my first raffle prize.   I am going to be sending out two emails a month for now after gauging the response I've received so far on newsletter frequency.  I'm surprised how many people like to get them weekly but I'm still on the fence so I'll just do two per month for now and see how it goes.

How often do you like to get an email that you've subscribed to?

New Chainmaille Bracelets At Pulp Sushi Jewelry

This week was dedicated to callusing up my fingers, those poor babies. There was a lot of poking, pricking, pressing, scraping but I'm happy with the outcome. I added some new bracelets in the shop. I learned how to do the Half Persian chainmaille link!

And once I got started, I couldn't stop....

I made more exclusively for the gallery opening later this month I wrote about. I need to ship those out to them ASAP.  I already have other colors in mind.  If there are any colors you would like to see or be interested in, let me know!

This bracelet was a pain in my butt to make but I love showing off these Czech glass beads, it's such a great shade of green.  I pricked my fingers so many times with the wire but it was worth it. Plus I need to practice my wire wrapping some more.

Have anything fun planned for this weekend? I hope to actually go out and do something FUN. It's supposed to warm up a little but I'll take anything over 30 degrees at this point.  Have a great weekend!

New Pulp Sushi Jewelry this week

Woohoo! I recently had two Storenvy sales in one week! Ok one of them was from someone I knew but that still counts! It broke my non-selling dry spell so I'm pretty happy about that.  It's giving me hope that I can totally make my Storenvy shop work if I just apply myself.  So yeah, February > January.

I've been focusing my attention on Storenvy again after all the negative attention Etsy has been getting recently because of Third Bird Nest.   I've discussed this enough on Facebook and Twitter but it is what it is and it doesn't look like Etsy is going to do much to stop sellers like this from popping up.  I still have to do what I can to lure customers to my shops directly.

Plus Storenvy just has nicer looking storefronts as I pointed out last year.  Since then, I dropped the custom domain and coupon offer so I'm saving more money this way.

I already sold one pair of these earrings the same day they posted so I rushed to make another pair. I have a former coworker who is a big supporter of my jewelry and she snatched these up.  She looooves pink! :)

It's been a while since I added a new flower pendant necklace.  I'm thinking ahead of Spring and slightly warmer temperatures and seeing pretty flowers bloom.

This camera necklace actually sold Sunday night. Hoping I can get more camera charms soon but I just really like the way I staged this image and I wanted to share it on my blog anyway.

Have anything fun planned this weekend? It's the end of February so the worst of winter is over right? RIGHT??? Have a great weekend!

New In The Etsy Shop This Week

Back with more items added to the shop this week. There was a break with shop updates last week because I've been re-working my Etsy listings (which I'll talk about another time).

I'm still buried in the snow and got a fresh layer yesterday morning so I still have my "Snow Day" going on where you can get 20% off your Etsy purchase with the coupon code SNOWDAY20, dig it!

This is the second version of this necklace I made. I sold the last one in Beacon over the holidays. This Agate Stone is slightly darker. So hard to capture accurate colors but this is brown, white and dark gray (not black).

New In The Shop This Week

New in the Etsy shop this week is a new line of choker necklaces featuring colorful Swarovski beads. There are eight colors to choose from.

I'm also trying a new chain!  I've never used a Figaro chain before but I always thought the chain was a pretty design.  I wanted to try a different style of necklace with no charms, and hanging closer to the neck.

I could have kept going and made them with MORE colors but I think eight is a good place to start for now.   If there is a color you would like to see, let me know!  We can work something out.  :)

Shoot I should try and dig the Pantone color of 2015: Marsala shouldn't I? Why do I think of these things after the fact? This is why I fall behind lol! Have a great weekend!

New In The Shop This Week

Happy Friday! I'm back with more newness added to the Etsy shop this week. You can click on the link to view the Etsy listing.

Oh my freakin' god this bracelet!!!  This bracelet was made entirely from scratch. The "chain" was put together with jumprings I connected individually and added the beads after I wired each one.  This took way longer than I thought it would but feel so super accomplished with how it came out.

"Grumpy Owl" earrings version 2.0 - this time including smokey quartz Swarovski beads.

I was at a birthday party this past weekend and I met someone who actually remembered me from the Holiday Craft Fair I did in Beacon last month.  Her mother purchased a bracelet from me.  She mentioned my flower stud earrings and how cute she thought they were.  Then asked if I had hair pins available.  D'oh! I did but they weren't in the shop. I made so many over the holidays and just left them out of the shop in case I sold a bunch at the fairs.  Well I only sold a couple so now they're back in the shop in sets of three.

Don't forget the blog reader discount (just look over at the sidebar). You always get 20% off your purchase with code BLOG20

Have a great weekend!
